Abstract
Investment planning is essential for achieving long-term financial security and wealth creation. Among various investment methods, Lump Sum and Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) are widely adopted by mutual fund investors. This study compares these two investment strategies with reference to SBI Bank and Axis Bank by analysing investor preferences, risk perception, expected returns, and satisfaction levels. The study follows a descriptive research design using primary and secondary data collected from 100 respondents. The findings reveal that SIP is preferred for disciplined investing and lower market risk, whereas Lump Sum investments are chosen for higher return potential during favourable market conditions.

References
The study concludes that both SIP and Lump Sum investments are effective mutual fund investment strategies, but their suitability depends on an investor's financial objectives, investment horizon, and risk tolerance. SIP is preferred by most investors because it promotes financial discipline, minimizes market timing risk, and facilitates long-term wealth creation through regular investments. Lump Sum investments offer higher return potential during favourable market conditions but require careful market analysis and greater risk tolerance. SBI Bank and Axis Bank have contributed significantly to promoting mutual fund investments through quality advisory services and digital investment platforms. Overall, the study suggests that investors should adopt an investment strategy aligned with their personal financial circumstances to maximize long-term investment performance.
