Peer Review Policy
Peer Review Policy
The International Journal of Science, Strategic Management, and Technology (IJSMT)
is committed to publishing only the highest caliber of scholarly work.
Our rigorous peer review process forms the foundation of the journal’s
quality, integrity, and credibility. IJSMT strictly adheres to
ethical standards established by the
Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Review Model: Double-Blind Peer Review
IJSMT follows a double-blind peer review system designed to ensure
maximum objectivity and eliminate potential bias during manuscript evaluation.
- To the Reviewer: Author identities (names, affiliations, and contact details) are concealed throughout the review process.
- To the Author: Reviewer identities remain concealed from the authors at all stages.
This anonymity ensures that manuscripts are evaluated solely on
scientific merit, methodological rigor, and relevance
to the journal’s scope.
2. The Review Process Flow
Each manuscript submitted to IJSMT undergoes the following review stages:
- Initial Editorial Assessment (Screening): The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) or Associate Editor evaluates submissions for compliance with Author Guidelines, journal scope, ethical standards, and plagiarism policy. Manuscripts failing this stage may be desk-rejected.
- Assignment and Invitation: At least two independent expert reviewers are selected based on subject-matter expertise.
- Review Execution: Reviewers assess the manuscript and submit detailed comments and recommendations. The typical review timeline is 3–6 days.
- Editorial Decision: Based on reviewer feedback, the final decision may be Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
- Revision and Re-submission: Authors must address all reviewer comments thoroughly and submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter.
3. Evaluation Criteria for Reviewers
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following core criteria:
- Originality and Novelty: Contribution of new data, concepts, methods, or interdisciplinary insights.
- Methodological Rigor: Appropriateness, validity, and clarity of research design and analysis.
- Scholarly Contribution: Advancement of knowledge in Science, Management, or Technology.
- Clarity and Structure: Logical organization, readability, and effectiveness of figures and tables.
- Ethical Compliance: Proper citation practices, transparency, and declared conflicts of interest.
4. Responsibilities of Key Participants
| Role | Core Responsibilities |
|---|---|
| Editors | Uphold the double-blind process, ensure timely review, make fair and objective decisions, and manage ethical issues in accordance with COPE guidelines. |
| Reviewers | Provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback; maintain manuscript confidentiality; and report conflicts of interest or ethical concerns. |
| Authors | Prepare manuscripts as per guidelines, disclose funding and conflicts of interest, and respond respectfully to all reviewer feedback. |
5. Confidentiality and Ethical Integrity
All manuscripts submitted to IJSMT are treated as
strictly confidential.
- Reviewers must not share manuscript content or use unpublished material for personal or third-party advantage.
- Any breach of confidentiality, plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical misconduct will be investigated according to COPE protocols, which may result in rejection and formal reporting to relevant institutions.
We thank all authors for entrusting their research to IJSMT and our global
community of reviewers and editors for upholding the
integrity of scholarly communication.
