Abstract

Climate change has been identified as one of the most prominent challenges in the global scenario, which affects the current business environment. Rising instances of natural disasters, rising global temperatures, resource depletion, and strict environmental laws are changing the way businesses function and compete in the future. This paper investigates the effects of climate change on the functioning and financial performance of businesses, the stability of the supply chain, and corporate strategies. This study utilizes primary data obtained from a structured questionnaire survey of respondents belonging to varied demographic profiles to assess the perceptions of respondents on risks, pressures from regulations, sustainability strategies, and consumer behaviour. The paper employs descriptive and comparative analysis methods to interpret the manner in which climate change factors such as natural disasters and resource depletion adversely impact business continuity, and the moderating role of environmental regulations and ESG investment strategies that promote business resilience. The results indicate that climate change has a substantial effect on increasing business costs, supply chain instability, and forcing businesses to focus on sustainability and technological advancements. Additionally, the rising demand for sustainable products and strict government regulations are propelling the transition to green business models.
