Abstract

Ensuring safe and clean water is a major challenge in today's society. It impacts public health, agriculture, and industry. Traditional water testing methods are often manual, costly, and do not allow for real-time monitoring. To address these issues, this project develops an IoT-based Smart Water Quality Monitoring System. It continuously measures and analyzes water parameters using advanced sensors and cloud integration. The system uses various sensors, including a pH sensor to measure acidity and alkalinity, a turbidity sensor to detect suspended particles, a dissolved oxygen sensor to assess oxygen content, a temperature sensor, and a TDS/conductivity sensor to evaluate salinity and ion concentration. These sensors connect to a microcontroller or processor such as Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi, which gathers and processes the data. The processed data is sent wirelessly to cloud platforms like ThingSpeak, Firebase, or AWS IoT, allowing for secure storage, visualization, and analysis.
