Abstract
Blockchain technology is transforming banking and finance through decentralized, transparent, secure, and tamper-resistant digital records. Private sector banks in India are exploring blockchain for secure payments, cross-border transactions, trade finance, digital identity, smart contracts, fraud prevention, and cybersecurity. This study examines blockchain adoption and its influence on transaction security, operational efficiency, customer service, and banking performance. Primary and secondary data were considered, with responses from 100 participants. Percentage analysis was used to interpret perceptions. The findings indicate that secure payments are the leading application, transaction security is the principal advantage, and high implementation cost is the major adoption challenge today.
