Abstract

The teaching-learning process has significantly changed through incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the educational system. Students at different levels are using AI tools for the purpose of achieving success in academic endeavors. Senior secondary school students are also increasingly use AI tools — such as ChatGPT, Gemini, adaptive learning platforms, and automated feedback systems — to support learning. Using of AI tools can enhance the access of information but it also influences the decision-making ability of students, it has become a critical concern of educator. Decision-making ability also involves critical thinking, reasoning and rational thinking which affects directly to the life choices. This research investigates the usage of AI tools affects the decision-making ability of senior secondary school students. The findings of the study suggested that if students use AI tools properly, then their decision-making ability affected positively. Ultimately, this research proposes recommendations for educators, policymakers, and students to optimize AI use while preserving cognitive autonomy and decision quality.
