Abstract
Entrepreneurship has become a central pillar of India’s economic development agenda, especially within the MSME sector, which plays a vital role in innovation, employment creation, and regional economic diversification. The Government of India has introduced a broad range of financial-support schemes aimed at expanding credit access, promoting inclusivity and fostering enterprise creation across diverse socio-economic groups. This paper aims to provide a comply and comprehensive review of these major financial-support schemes by analyzing their outcomes towards entrepreneurs using secondary data. Drawing exclusively from government reports, policy documents, academic literature, institutional evaluations, and credible online resources, the study employs a qualitative thematic analysis approach to categorize the schemes into collateral-free loans, credit guarantees, subsidies, refinancing mechanisms, and startup support initiatives, enabling a detailed comparative assessment of their strengths and limitations. The findings reveal that flagship schemes which promotes entrepreneurs by the Government of India. The study also identifies several persistent challenges, including low awareness among beneficiaries, documentation burdens, limited financial literacy, uneven regional credit distribution, and inadequate post-loan handholding support. Overall, the study concludes that while India has established a strong and diverse institutional architecture for entrepreneurs.
