A STUDY ON WAGES AND SALARY ADMINISTRATION AND ITS EFFECT ON EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION
Employee satisfaction is one of the most important factors influencing organizational productivity and success. Wages and salary administration play a major role in improving employee morale, commitment, and performance. A fair compensation system helps organizations attract talented employees, reduce employee turnover, and maintain healthy industrial relations. In modern organizations, employees not only expect good salaries but also demand transparency, fairness, incentives, and career growth opportunities.
This study focuses on wage and salary administration and its effect on employee satisfaction in Rasi Seeds, Coimbatore. The study examines employee opinions regarding salary structure, overtime allowance, increments, incentives, wage policies, and payment systems followed in the organization. It also evaluates whether the current compensation practices meet employee expectations and industry standards.
The study adopted a descriptive research design. Primary data were collected from employees through questionnaires, while secondary data were collected from books, journals, company reports, and websites. Statistical tools such as percentage analysis, correlation, and chi-square analysis were used for data interpretation. The findings reveal that most employees are satisfied with the current salary system, although some employees expect more frequent revisions and better increment policies.
